Matthew Kim, Associate

Matthew joined BSLSC in 2018 and specializes in civil and commercial litigation. Prior to joining the firm, Matthew acquired a broad range of litigation experience in a variety of settings, having previously held positions in a provincial ministry, crown attorney’s office, a small regional firm — even running his own specialized practice devoted to family and child protection law.

Matthew obtained his juris doctor at the University of Windsor and was called to the bar in Ontario in 2015. While in law school, he volunteered as a caseworker at Community Legal Aid, served as editor of the Windsor law review, and, in his third year, clerked with Hon. Justice Barry Tobin and Hon. Justice Douglas Phillips as part of the Windsor Law Family Law Clerkship programme. Matthew has been an enthusiastic volunteer at Lawyers Feed the Hungry since 2014.

Matthew holds an Honours Bachelor of Arts in English Literature from University College, University of Toronto. When he’s not practicing law, Matthew pursues his interests in art, literature, music, hockey, film, and travelling, always following his favourite team, the Detroit Red Wings.
