Jane Martin: The newest member of the BSLSC team
Jane obtained her undergraduate degree in philosophy from the University of Toronto in 1993, and her law degree from Osgoode Hall Law School in 2003. She then clerked at the Superior Court of Justice. She joined BSLSC after being called to the bar in 2004.
Prior to attending law school, Jane worked in community mental health in Victoria, British Columbia, in the book business (both retail and editing) in Toronto and Victoria, and became an avid cyclist.
While at Osgoode Hall, Jane participated in the Intensive Program in Poverty Law at Parkdale Community Legal Services’ Family and Welfare Division. She also worked as a research assistant in the areas of health law, tax policy and constitutional law.
Jane is Vice-Chair of the Board of Directors of West Toronto Community Legal Services, a community legal clinic.
Jane plans to develop her practice in civil litigation, and to dust off her bicycle and rekindle her passion for cycling.
