A lawyer licensed to practice law in three countries (India, United States – New York, and Canada – Ontario), Nikita Tanwar joined BSLSC in 2022 and works in the corporate law and estates departments.

Prior to joining BSLSC, Nikita worked as a senior legal associate in India where she advised several international investment funds, financial institutions, and companies on corporate law matters including domestic and cross-border equity transactions, venture-debt arrangements, mergers, acquisitions, privacy laws, and employment laws among other things.

Nikita has obtained her Bachelor of Arts and Law (with academic distinction) from Amity University in India, where she was awarded the highest honour for over-all excellence and a merit-based scholarship. She has further obtained a Masters of Law degree from the Pennsylvania State University, where she was the recipient of the highest merit-based scholarship awarded to international students by the institution.

Nikita is also dedicated to the cause of animal welfare and environmental protection. She has a Post-Graduate Diploma in Animal Welfare (with academic distinction) and volunteers with several animal welfare and rescue organizations. She is currently serving on the board of directors of PAWS Canada.

During her free time, Nikita enjoys writing and has been featured by several notable publications including the Indian Business Law Journal and Axfait.
