He Who Represents Himself Has a Fool for a Client

There is truth to this famous quote. While there are times when a lay person will be able to navigate their way through a legal issue, there are many other situations when professional legal help should be sought. In this issue of our newsletter we tell you of two cases that involve parties that tried to go it alone.

The first case involves a testator who changed her will on several occasions but only sought the help of a lawyer once. In the second case, a homebuyer waited until after the agreement of purchase and sale was signed to hire a lawyer. Had she involved a lawyer as soon as she started house hunting she might have avoided some costly litigation. Unfortunately, thedr scenarios are not so uncommon.
